(Player Spotlight) - Danny Miller #63 - Middle Linebacker and Specialty Teams
Danny was our middle linebacker and a member of the "Orient Express" headed by Glenn Barretto and Coach Tom Newsom's famed defensive unit. Danny was a fierce-hitting quiet middle linebacker. He let his play speak for him. Danny was a hard-charger, and could shut down the run up the gut. Tough kid. He mixed it up often and never complained of an injury. An old-school hard-nosed sticking machine. I liked that in him. He took a beating and kept on sticking. Danny was a huge part of holding the opposing offenses all year to just 132 points. When times got tough on the field, and they did often, Danny never faltered. He stood his ground and never backed down when players were much larger than us. He was the right player for the middle linebacker position. He plugged the center of the field and made it difficult for offenses trying to move the ball up the gut. Thanks for the memories, Danny. You took names.
